Merry Christmas! It has been an eventful Christmas this year, but more on that later. I just was looking through all of my old photos and remembering all my good friends and the good times we had. So I just wanted to say hi and I miss you all.

PS. How many names can you remember from the Veggie Board? Mr. Bok Choy sound familiar?

Mine was Colonel Corn. But Mr. Bok Choy was cool too. I thought the cherries were some kind of popstar twins?

Happy New Year!

So tonight I played the most complicated game that I've ever seen. Its called Advanced Squad Leader (ASL) and it basically tries to imitate war as closely as possible and it does a good job. Its set in WWII era and it has almost all of the real units that were used anywhere in the world during WWII, which is a whole bunch of kinds of tanks, infantry, planes, subs, horsemen, skiiers, paratroopers, canons, and of course ninjas. They cover weapon malfunctions, troop mentality, leaders, weather, seasons, wind and all sorts of other stuff. They had to simplify the rules so that people could learn and the simplest they could make it was still ten or twelve pages of small text with lots of abbreviations. Then they have eight different levels of rules that you learn until you learn all the rules. I only played the first level and it took me a whole game before I got the basics. It was interesting and I'm looking forward to learning how to try play it better. Anna's brother is teaching me and is excited because I'll be one of only a handful of people to play it in all of Southern Oregon. His wife may not be as excited because it takes at least a couple of hours to play a simple game.

Random Life Update
So lately I've been in the mode where I knew I should probably write something, and think of things throught the day, but when I get home at night, just can't remember anything very important. I've been busy, working four part time jobs (photographer, substitute teacher, communit college instructor, door-to-door Christmas light salesman) and just living. My projects right now are trying to buy a new camera and getting health care, plus some other stuff like taking care of our cars and other random stuff. The lens for our new camera should get here Monday or Tuesday, but the actual camera will probably take a little longer because we had to cancel our order and start over.

Thanksgiving was good. We were going to spend it with Anna's family, but the day of Anna's mom got sick and her youngest nephew fell and split a tooth in half. Thankfully, daddy was a dentist, so they got that taken care of pretty quickly, but celebrating on Thanksgiving itself was shot. Instead we went and played tackle football in the snow (yes, we've had snow here for a few weeks) and then went to a friend of the family's house for Thanksgiving dinner. We played some games and went to watch Happy Feet. That was a fun movie, but a little heavier than what I expected. So we did a family Thanksgiving that Sunday. It was interesting being part of a family that was now mine but I was new to. Before I was either with my family that I grown up with or been a guest at someone else's house. It was nice and I'm glad I was there, but it will still be a while before I feel as if I'm a native there. I wonder if Anna will feel the same way when we go to my parents' house for Christmas. That will be fun because both of my brothers will be there. There was some question as to whether Micah would be taking a trip to Egypt over Christmas break and whether Jeremy could afford the airfare, but I think we should all be out there together. Other than that, Anna is finish up some school stuff and her Wycliffe application and we're slowly decorating our apartment and applying to churches for support. Things are going well.
